CBSE lodges complaint over cyber attacks on post-result services portal
Board says no data breach detected; attacks mitigated through round-the-clock monitoring and support from cybersecurity agencies

The portal, launched on June 2, 2026, for services such as verification and re-evaluation of answer scripts for Class XII Board Examination candidates, was subjected to repeated cyber attacks over the past three days, CBSE said in a press release.

CBSE said it has approached the IFSO Unit for a detailed investigation and appropriate legal action against those responsible. The Board emphasised that its systems and databases remain secure and uncompromised, with no data breach or unauthorised access detected.
The attacks were successfully mitigated through continuous 24x7 monitoring and response mechanisms, with support from cybersecurity teams of IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, Digital India Corporation, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), CERT-In and other Central Government agencies.

Earlier on June 3, CBSE had said that "malicious actors" attempted to disrupt its re-evaluation portal through cyberattacks.
In a post on X, the board said the latest incident involved a denial-of-service (DoS) attack attempt that generated 1.5 million hits on the portal within two minutes, along with more than one lakh attempts at unauthorised file access.
