Father’s Day gift guide: The best Beats headphones, Apple Watch, more
Father’s Day is just around the corner, and we’ve got a whole bunch of tech-focused recommendations for gift ideas for the dad in your life. Whether you’re looking to take advantage of some killer deals on Apple’s versatile lineup of Beats headphones, add an Apple Watch to his arsenal, or upgrade his tech everyday carry, we have some ideas for you.
Powerbeats Pro 2
I’m a huge fan of the Beats product lineup. Whereas Apple only makes AirPods in a couple of different shapes, Beats has a full spectrum of options.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 are my favorite option, packing an ultra-secure fit thanks to a clever earhook design. They also feature a built-in heart rate sensor, so you can track your data during workouts even if you don’t wear an Apple Watch.
Powerbeats Pro 2 also offer many of the same iOS integration features as AirPods, such as one touch pairing, Audio Sharing, Personalized Spatial Audio, and more.
Here’s what I wrote about Powerbeats Pro 2 in my full review last year:
Powerbeats Pro 2 are the perfect iteration of the product line. They maintain the fan-favorite design while simultaneously making key improvements to the form factor, like the slimmer earbuds and smaller charging case. Battery life is stellar and performance is excellent thanks to the H2 chip. The secure fit is still unmatched.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 release is the latest piece of evidence that Beats is firing on all cylinders right now. They represent the company’s most ambitious product yet, combining a significant form factor revamp and first-of-its-kind heart rate monitoring technology.
You can buy Powerbeats Pro 2 from Best Buy today for $199.99 — that’s a $50 discount compared to their usual $249.99 price tag.
Beats Solo 4

If the dad in your life is in the market for over-ear headphones, Beats has you covered there too. I absolutely love the Beats Solo 4, which feature an on-ear fit and an ultra-light design. They way just 217 grams, compared to AirPods Max at 385 grams and Beats Studio Pro at 260 grams.
Here’s what I wrote about Beats Solo 4 in my full review:
The focus of Beats Solo 4 is taking a tried and true product and bringing it into the modern era. Beats could have discontinued Beats Solo 3 without a replacement and pushed customers toward the more expensive Beats Studio Pro instead. Alternatively, it could’ve released Beats Solo 4 at a higher price point.
The Beats Solo 4 are a welcome addition to the Beats and Apple family of headphones. While there’s more I wish Beats would’ve changed, the improvements they did make were much-needed. I also really don’t want to overlook just how key it is that the price remained unchanged at $199.99.
You can buy Beats Solo 4 from Best Buy today for $129.99 — that’s a $70 discount compared to their usual price of $199.99.
Apple Watch

I firmly believe an Apple Watch is one of the best gifts you can get someone, and Father’s Day this year is no different. Apple Watch is can serve as a so-called guardian angel of your health, ranging from fitness tracking to heart monitoring, Fall Detection, and much more. It can provide peace of mind for both you and your dad.
- 40mm Apple Watch SE 3: from $219 (Reg. $249)
- 44mm Apple Watch SE 3: from $249 (Reg. $279)
- 42mm Apple Watch Series 11: from $299 (Reg. $399)
- 46mm Apple Watch Series 11: from $329 (Reg. $429)
- Apple Watch Ultra 3: from $699(Reg. $799)
All of these Apple Watch models make great options for Father’s Day this year. You can learn more about each specific model below:
AirTag 2

Apple announced AirTag 2 earlier this year, and it offers three key upgrades over its predecessor:
- Precision Finding now works up to 1.5x farther away than AirTag 1.
- Upgraded Bluetooth chip that expands the findable range.
- The speaker is up to 50% louder than the original.
If the dad in your life is always misplacing his keys, backpack, or anything else … AirTag 2 is a surefire hit gift.
Buy AirTags:
- Apple AirTag 1-pack: From $29
- Apple AirTag 4-pack: From $99
Logitech MX Master 4

I’ve been using a Logitech MX Master mouse as my daily driver for years, so I was eager to get my hands on the new Logitech MX Master 4 when it was announced. Thankfully, Logitech didn’t try to reinvent the wheel. Instead, the MX Master 4 builds on a design that’s already widely loved, while adding thoughtful upgrades such as haptic feedback.
The overall shape remains familiar, but Logitech has made some welcome tweaks to the materials. The mouse is more resistant to stains and fingerprints, and portions of the previous rubberized coating have been replaced with a textured plastic finish that feels durable while maintaining a premium look.
MacBook Neo

If you’re looking to splurge a little bit on dad this year, MacBook Neo is a fantastic choice. It’s Apple’s newest and most affordable Mac, powered by the A18 Pro chip.
As I wrote in my full review, MacBook Neo is a truly great Mac at an unbelievable price. It’s made from a beautiful aluminum design, available in an array of different color options. It offers stellar performance that can keep up with a variety of different tasks.
- Buy on Amazon: $589.99 (Reg. $599)
Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe

One of the best iPhone features Apple has introduced in recent years is StandBy. When your iPhone is charging in landscape orientation, it effectively becomes a smart display, letting you view customizable widgets, cycle through photos, or keep a large clock visible throughout the day.
To take advantage of StandBy, I use the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe on my desk. It serves as a dedicated charging stand for my iPhone while also offering a wireless charging spot for AirPods and an integrated charger for Apple Watch. Since I wear my Apple Watch to bed for sleep tracking, being able to top it up during the day at my desk is especially important.
MagSafe accessories
If your dad is rocking an iPhone with MagSafe support, Father’s Day is a great chance to make sure he’s taking full advantage of the MagSafe ecosystem. There are options for mounting your iPhone in the car, at your desk, MagSafe-compatible wallets, and more.
- Moft Magnetic Wallet Stand for iPhone
- Belkin’s MagSafe Vent Mount Pro
- Anker Nano MagSafe Portable Charger for iPhone
- PopSockets Phone Grip for MagSafe
- Apple’s first-party FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe
- Butterfly 2-in-1 Compact Foldable Wireless Charger
Aqara U400 Smart Lock

One of the best HomeKit upgrades you can make for your house is a smart lock. Earlier this year, I reviewed the Aqara U400 and concluded that it’s the first smart lock that truly delivers on the smart home vision we were promised from the start.
The biggest reason for this is support for Ultra Wideband connectivity. UWB lets devices understand exactly where they are relative to each other. With the Aqara U400, that means my door can unlock automatically as I approach with my iPhone in my pocket or my Apple Watch on my wrist.
Plus, the Aqara U400 installation process is pretty straightforward, so Dad won’t have to stress too much during that process.
More from Beats
Finally, as I wrote earlier, Beats offers a wide array of different options. If you don’t think the Beats Solo 4 or Powerbeats Pro 2 are right for Father’s Day, here are some other options:
- Beats Studio Pro Headphones from $169 (Reg. $350)
- Beats Studio Buds Plus Transparent $100 (Reg. $170)
- Beats Solo Buds $60 (Reg. $80)
- Beats Powerbeats Fit $170 (Reg. $200)
- … and many more …
I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention the Beats Pill, which is used literally every day in my house. It’s a stellar value at $99.99 from Best Buy (Reg. $149.99).
