Maharashtra issues Letter of Intent to AirTrunk for ₹2 lakh crore data centre project in Raigad

Maharashtra Government has issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) for land allotment to AirTrunk for a proposed data centre project in Raigad district, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Monday.
Sharing the update on social media platform X, Fadnavis posted a photo with the AirTrunk CEO Robin Khuda and exchanged the LoI for land at the Raigad Pen Growth Centre (Orange City) for their upcoming data center.
"Delighted to welcome the CEO of AirTrunk Robin Khuda, to Maharashtra! We exchanged a Letter of Intent for land allotment at the Raigad Pen Growth Centre (Orange City) for their upcoming Data Centre — a massive ₹2 Lakh Crore investment with 3 GW capacity!" he wrote on X.
Fadnavis said the project, backed by Blackstone, is expected to power Maharashtra's digital infrastructure. He also thanked Consul-General of Australia, Paul Murphy, for being present during the meeting.
"Backed by Blackstone, AirTrunk's investment will power Maharashtra's digital future!" it added.

"If the future is in the cloud... AirTrunk is where the cloud meets the ground," the company's website states.

According to the chief minister, the project will involve an investment of ₹2 lakh crore and have a planned capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW), making it one of the largest data centre investments announced in the state.
