Meta rolls out AI Business Agent globally across messaging platforms
Meta expands its AI Business Agent globally across WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram, offering automated customer support and new tools for managing conversations.

The announcement was made at the company's Conversations event in London.
Meta said the tool, which is already being used by more than one million businesses on WhatsApp and Messenger, will now be made available to businesses of different sizes globally. The company is also extending the capability to Instagram.
The rollout comes as technology companies increasingly incorporate generative artificial intelligence into customer service and business communication tools.
Meta said businesses will initially be able to access the Business Agent free of charge, with paid subscription-based offerings planned in the coming months.
Alongside the expansion, the company announced new features on WhatsApp that will allow users to discover businesses using AI-powered agents through search and contact-sharing functions.
Meta also introduced capabilities aimed at helping businesses manage customer conversations. These include summaries of missed chats, updates on customer interactions and conversation insights. The features are being made available initially to a limited number of businesses using the WhatsApp Business app, Instagram Pro, Messenger and Meta Business Suite.
Separately, Meta unveiled the Meta Business Agent Platform, which enables businesses to build, customise and deploy AI agents and connect them with third-party systems such as e-commerce and customer support platforms.
According to the company, the platform includes controls and monitoring tools intended for larger organisations and supports deployment across WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.
The announcements reflect Meta's broader push to expand AI-driven business services across its messaging ecosystem, where businesses and customers already interact through its platforms.
