Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday, May 29, said the state plans to establish six centres of excellence for artificial intelligence (AI) in Mumbai and make 2,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) available to meet rising computing demand.

Fadnavis said Maharashtra aims to lead the AI revolution, adding that ethical AI would remain at the centre of the state government's policies.

He also said AI development in the state would focus on equity and accessibility, stressing that everyone should have access to AI technologies.
